We are thrilled to be offering Sculptra. We’ve been administering Sculptra for a good while now, but we still get a lot of questions about “why is Sculptra different than Juvederm or Restylane dermal fillers?” I thought I’d take a moment to try and answer.
This video link I’ve inserted below — “What Is Sculptra” by Dr. Sam Ellis — is a great, informative review of Sculptra. As you watch it, keep in mind the following takeaways:
- Sculptra is a biostimulator — it stimulates your body to make its own collagen. The results are not immediate but are longer lasting than hylauronic acid dermal fillers.
- The ideal Sculptra patient will have 2-3 treatment sessions of 1-2 vials injected in each session. This is a process, so patients must be patient. It’s worth it!
- It’s estimated that for about every decade of life, you’ll need about 1 vial of Sculptra.
- Immediately following Sculptra, use the 5-5-5 method. Massage five times per day for five minutes for five days!
- We lose about 1% of our collagen per year beginning in our 20’s. By our 40’s, we’ve lost about 20% of our collagen.
- Many opt for Sculptra treatments because it is so natural looking.
- Patients look the best when combining Sculptra with other anti-aging cosmetic injections — i.e., Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau or Xeomin.
Now, here’s that video!
